The Florida Council for Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated Women and Girls is dedicated to equipping women and girls adversely affected by the criminal justice system with tools to successfully seek freedom from the INSIDE OUT.
The Florida Council uses community organizing as a tool to wrap community around the issues that not only affect Us, but our communities as well. We believe that women and girls should be able to heal from their past trauma and be offered support and mentorship as they navigate the upward journey of restoration and reintegration.
Confinement is only one form of incarceration. The Florida Council are advocates for the emotional and spiritual freedom as well. Through healing, support, and access to opportunity, we intend to Free Her.
The Florida Council is a proud affiliate of the National Council for Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated Women and Girls. Unapologetically we stand with Sisters and allies all over the world in the national and statewide movement to end all forms of mass incarceration of our women and girls
